A wine tasting workshop for blind people: challenge met at OLALA!
- Auteur : Vincent
We recently had the chance to welcome some members of the UNADEV association, dedicated to the integration for blind and visually impaired people. This association has been existing for more than 80 years and has its own structure in our city centre. Within this association there are many volunteers helping people to improve their lifestyle conditions. Among all the various missions, there is particularly one we really appreciate: to propose a monthly cultural offering in town and its surroundings. No doubt we can meet this challenge, offering them the possibility to discover our Bordeaux wines during a tailor-made experience!
Let’s meet in our wine shop & wine cellar in the heart of the Golden Triangle (“Grands Hommes” area) in order to attend an initiation to our Bordeaux wines. There were 5 volunteers accompanying 7 beneficiaries (and an adorable guide dog!) that day. They really enjoyed this personalized tasting session to acquire new knowledges about their wine region!
Because we really wanted they feel comfortable throughout the workshop, we had different kinds of media: large screen presentation, alternative format such as Braille, relief vineyard maps… still in an educational and warm atmosphere!
It was obviously a great success, so for sure we’ll stay in contact with this association in case they would like to do something similar for other participants in the newt few weeks/months. We’re now thinking about organizing other specific workshops, targeting the audience that have little access to culture.
This is the “Olala Spirit” 😉 Here are some pictures to share with you, remembering this nice moment! Looking forward to see you again!
